Administration: Patrick & Kelly Perri
Patrick Joseph, (PJ), and Kelly Perri (formerly Magley) are both South Bend natives. PJ attended John Adams High School and Kelly attended Trinity School at Greenlawn. PJ first felt the call of God on his life for ministry in high school. In 2001, he attended Bethel College and became a powerful leader on their NAIA tennis team and was an All-American for 2 consecutive years. Graduating in 2004, with a B.A in Youth Ministry, PJ has been serving faithfully since 2003. In 2008, PJ was ordained and licensed and now serves as Heroes Camp’s Pastor of Administration. Being the daughter of the founders of Heroes Camp, Kelly grew up with a strong heart for missions. Kelly moved to Chicago to pursue her love for dance and has taught dance and performed professionally. Having a passion for world missions, Kelly spent time in Central and South America serving orphans in impoverished areas. Upon returning to the United States, Kelly saw that the needs were similar for children in the South Bend area as they were abroad. Since their recent marriage, Kelly has now come aboard at Heroes Camp as the Director of Fund Development and Expansion.
Also ordained in 2007, Pastor Shawn brings a warm and compassionate heart to the ministry and has been a Camper for over 18 years. His kind and loving spirit wins the trust and confidence of many hurting kids. After graduating Riley High School, Shawn attended Maryville College in Tennessee where he played ball his entire college career and led his team to an All Conference Championship. Graduating with a B.A. in Psychology and later completing his Masters in Early Childhood Education from I.U.S.B. Shawn is a devoted teacher at Washington High School. In 2008, the South Bend School Corporation awarded him Teacher of the Year. Shawn brings his teaching gift to Heroes Camp as he ministers the Word of God is in a way that young men can grasp. He has been married for 5 years and is raising three beautiful children in the fear of the Lord.
Pat Magley is a 1971 graduate of LaSalle High School where he was a leader both on and off the basketball court. He went on to attend Moberly Junior College and West Georgia College majoring in Criminal Justice and Recreational Education and married B.J. in 1975. In May of 1990, Pat left his employment at Berkheimer's and dedicated himself full time to the youth of Michiana. B.J. left her position with United Way to join him in 1992. Pat and B. J., along with their daughter Kelly, have built Heroes Camp into a powerful community outreach for youth.
Ordained in 2007 Pastor Tyron Harris has been a pillar to the ministry since 1989 when he was first attending the camp on a partaker level. His devotion to the Lord has impacted countless lives as he leads by example and with a transparent life. He says that when he first met Pat, “I knew right away that I wanted to have my own gym and minister to kids, but I did not know where to go to school for that.” After a blazing basketball career at St Joseph High School where he led the Indians to State Final Four game his sophomore year, he went on to play college ball. Tyron attended Lake Michigan Junior College where he was an All American and East Village College in Dallas. During his time in Dallas, he heard the voice of the Lord reminding him of his initial dream to minister to kids and was obedient to the call of God on his life and came back to work in South Bend. He has been married for 10 years, and is raising up five amazing children in strength.
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
